The Scuba Tour ...

From Mark -

The Scuba Tour has come and gone - and nearly 300 Discover Scuba experience later, we survived.  A news report on the show can be found here:

It was hard work, but we had a fun time.  Special thanks to Jeff and Kristi Raykos, Dianna Sholl, Mark Seymour, John Thibs, and Terry and Mike Grogan. Also special thanks to Beth Hess and Joe Dormer who remained behind and kept the store open.  The manager of the Scuba Tour had some very nice things to say about our staff, how well we handled ourselves, and how nicely we worked together with Scuba Venture in Reading to promote both shops.

From Tom Pritchard...

Last night was not your average night at Willow, whatever that means.  The regular Regulars were joined by the always effervescent Huck, who shared his world infamous fruit with gravy dessert for our pot luck dinner. Gerhard, Huck, and I planned to go in together; I was to lead. After Gerhard was fully dressed, he realized that he left his fins home.  Doh!!  Change of plans: GM would splash and wash off the ocean salt from last weekend. Once Gerhard hit the water, he decided to take a stroll to the platform.  So he walked down the embankment to the platform at 25 feet and marched around awhile. Huck and I, with fins, did the Bubba, Mystery Boat, and bomb run before jumping the road and checking out the remote platform, the tow motor, and the boat next door.  I ran my reel for a change to see if I still remembered how.  On the way back, Huck and I stumbled across a 3 feet long silver fish with vertical stripes.  It was HUGE. Our resident ichthyologist, T-Bone Sr., quoting the Bible and the Quran, declared it to be a walleye.  A few minutes later, we found a yellow catfish sleeping on the bottom, half covered with silt - that's pretty damn lazy! Speaking of T-Bone, he was sporting a brand new "No Doc Tom Zone" sticker on his tanks. Only cool people can have a "No Doc Tom Zone" sticker, but they gave me one anyway. Next Saturday, the TNIs (plus TNI poser Vern) will be sinking an 800 lb. steel swim-through pipe. The pipe's final resting place will be on the bottom; more details to follow.
