Greetings Divers!!!

From Bryan Palmer . . .
Hello everyone from sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
I've heard from a few friends that the weather isn't so great back in PA, I however can't say the same down here. Anyways on to the important stuff, I have since started working for a dive shop down here in Fort Lauderdale that caters to the the yachting community primarily, very quick turn arounds and high volume is about all I can say. Well saturday I got to go diving and It was pretty nice compared to the cold NJ water. Temps in the 75-78 degree range and viz from 30-60 feet. I did 4 dive, 2 drift dives and 2 as camera man for an underwater scooter class. I saw some southern sting rays, cowfish, and few other tropical fish you don;t see often up north, I really need to spend time on my ID'ing. All and all I racked up just about 260 minutes = 4 hours and 20 minutes on 1 set of double alum 80's and I still had 800 psi in the tanks, and no they were not refilled. Depth was at 30-40 feet. Well thats about all for now. Talk to everyone soon.

Well it was a short week, not much going on, but I did run across this interesting tidbit of information. Got an extra $80,000 laying around? You can join Nauticos on their official search for Amelia Earhart's lost Lockheed Electra. There are 4 positions up for bid on eBay [link] In this unprecedented educational and fundraising technique, Nauticos is opening six spaces to non-professional researchers. One space each is being allotted to a teacher and a student, while the remaining four slots will be auctioned on eBay.

For those who share a sense of adventure with Amelia Earhart, this mission promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of history. Beginning December 6, 2004, bidders may log onto eBay for their chance to win a coveted berth on the Earhart Discovery Mission.

Successful bidders will join the ship's crew and scientists in all phases of the voyage and search. From launching, flying and recovering the sonar sled to standing watch, you will be an intimate part of a team in a place that few ever get to see as it solves one of the greatest mysteries of the 20th Century!!! More information is available here!!!
