Greetings Divers!!!

From Bryan Palmer . . .
May 22(Thurs) - Well it was understandable nice day to dive no pouring down rain so I headed up to join the Thursday Irregulars( i.e. tom Pritchard is being Irregular by taking a trip somewhere in Europe right now.) It started out as a surprisingly small group Terry, Gerhard and Myself, it quickly had a few more ad on's jay, George, jess & wild bill and his 5 pounds of meatballs!!! We had a nice dive runtime of 70ish minutes with a max depth of about 44 feet we finished with eating almost the entire 5 pounds of meatballs (only about a dozen left from what I heard) and we were entertained by several jokes and story's from Gerhard( something about finding 2 more place to put something, had to be there and I think it isn't rated pg or pg-13 so I think I would get in a Lot of $%#@ for saying it on here) and some of Terry's story's. Since I am righting this dive report I am going to be honest, Yes I can and know how to Dive but NO I CAN NOT WORK A LEFT HANDED CHEESE SHEDDER THE CORRECT WAY, so I was the willow spring IDIOT of the evening, AND last Terry's Key Lime Pie was Incredible for dessert

May 24(Sat) - Well is was a chilly wet day for the Rock, Mr. Mayo, and Myself to finish up our Dive rescue class, I THINK we passed with flying colors despite a few hold back, Namely something about swim to the victim with one arm out super man style Like the ROCK, But He sure made up for it with that chili he makes!!!! Um along other lines there were a few fun moment other Bud got his fill of rescue breathing I think this weekend!!! Other then that I saw Cindy and her diver buddy sorry can't remember his name, wild bill, and his student, and Dr. Deco and then with our class Liz Zyla, Beautiful Bud and Dennie

May 26(Mon) - Monday Found Ms. Cindy Dennie and Myself Diving at wabank where we ran in to Greg Kulp and Bob Hanna we Dennie was able to get out and do a Fun dive a nice break from everything for him I am sure, we had a 50 minute dive with Cindy saying that is the best VIZ she has ever seen there, but I would give it a few more days to let it settle again after the run off. we then cook out and had some hamburgers and hot dogs.

All in all it was a good weekend for diving, Hope to see you out and diving, weather is starting to break so dust those cobwebs off and get out and dive

Thursday killing time under an overcast sky, wind blowing and that 'it's gonna storm' hanging in the air I was having visions of the time last year when we were waiting on Wild Bill and got blown out. But this time around we were not disappointed. Bill, Byran Palmer and me went to go play in the habitat. Viz is still pretty good. On the way back Bill caught the big eel under the side of the canone and held it there til Bryan and I caught up. Well we were messing around on the bus! It was pretty funny sitting back watching the two of them try to catch it in the weeds.

Billy Balls!! Maggot chesse and American bread. The committee decided to put more effort into the food this week. We've even started on next week already! Good dinner, good (well at least entertaining) conversation. Most of the conversation centered on the obession of Gerhard's "two more places" you'll have a good chance finding those somewhere in Missouri. Really don't ask, I doubt that could as funny the second time around.

Congratulations to Bryan "I Already Hate Working On These $%&#$ Regulators" Palmer, Chris "I Didn't Buy My Drysuit At Smokey's" Mayo and Scott "The Rock/Superman" Steinbaecher, who all successfully completed the PADI Rescue Class this past Saturday at Bainbridge. They are even qualified to rescue you in the rain now, since that's the conditions we had to work with. It didn't stop these manly men however. I was a bit concerned about Scott's "Superman" form though while flying through the water at the surface while keeping his victim in sight. He shoulda had a big red "S" painted on the front of his drysuit, and the "S" doesn't stand for Scott either! You had to be there to see it for yourself. Beautiful Bud was there to help me out, as was Divemaster Wannabe Liz Zyla. This was a fun class. Everybody had a blast. Cindy "Shopgirl Lu" Willman-Kinsey, Kelly Stewart and Christa Heydt showed up to hang out and dive for fun with us. Scott brought a huge pot of killer chili and Kelly provided some kind of dip, which I forget what it was (sorry baby!!), but it was a hit. We had a good time, rain or no rain. Everbody ate well. With all the donuts and cakes we had there, I'm surprised anybody managed to get back into the water. Water temps are getting balmier these days. Liz managed to stay warm even in her wetsuit. Viz wasn't much to speak of, but then, it could have been due to us mucking it up or the 2 huge classes that showed up for checkouts. I was surprised to see that many people there on a holiday weekend. I'm looking to put another Rescue Class together later this summer. Let me or someone at that shop know if you'd be interested. This is a very fun, entertaining and educational class to take. Shame on you if you don't!

Bryan Palmer, Cindy Willman-Kinsey and myself took a trip on up to Willow on Monday to make a Holiday dive since we were bored to death and had nothing better to do. (Yeah Right). The weather was YUCK as everybody knows by now, but surprisingly the viz was very good, considering. We jumped off the lobster dock, or SLIPPED off in Cindy's case. She even tried playing ski slope down the stairs to the dock but didn't quite manage to make the bottom. Her new name is now Grace! Viz on the bottom was probably close to 15-20 ft. I thought sure with all the rain it would be nasty. We did a swim out to the Quest and over to the Fire Truck, back to the Quest, down to the Bus, over to the Boat, back to the Bus and back to the dock. Nice relaxing 50 minute dive. We cooked up some burgers and dogs afterwards and Greg Kulp joined us for some chow. It was a nice relaxing way to spend most of the day. I'd have sat home and watched it rain otherwise. My legs paid for it later that night, but what the hell? It was fun to dive and NOT be doing a class for a change. I'd like to put together a big Cookout/Picnic/Funday sometime in July or August once the weather warms up, if it ever does. Perhaps throw in a night dive and camping at Bainbridge. Let me know if you'd be interested so I know whether it's worth the time to try to set it up.

From Bob Hanna . . .
Saturday - New Diver James Zimmerman, Tim Sprinkle and Bob Hanna had two great dives at Willow Spring. Refreshments included a Chicken Chowder by Bob and a Chicken Salad by neighbor Lois Sarricks whose culinary delights continue to amaze. Jim is a recent open water graduate of a John Groh class. He has also ordered a dry suit, and did his check out dives in a dry suit. This was his first time at Willow. He did well. Keep up the good work Jim. We hope more new divers will let us know they would like a buddy.

Sunday
Cindy, Denny and others braved the elements to dive at Willow. But Bob and Greg Kulp were dressed and ready to go when they arrived. The viz was surprisingly good given the rain. We went South from the Lobster Dock all the way to the cove where the Caboose was located. There the viz was not good and we swam around the Caboose before returning.

The Thermo-pack Heating Pad Really works and keeps working between dives.

Did anyone ever ask you as a diver - "why do you dive to see sunken wrecks?" and you have all sorts of answers BUT they will never understand until they do it themselves OR go see this movie: Ghosts Of The Abyss! James Cameron has outdone himself in my opinion. The director of some of my favorite movies - The Abyss, Strange Days and the Terminators has done what no one else has ever done. Actually made a movie over 12,000 feet below!!!! You have to got to go see this movie AND it is in 3D none the less. Me and Uptown Brown took our families down to see it at the Maryland Science Center and everyone loved it, as did the whole audience. Gotta go see it!!!!
