Greetings To The World's Greatest Divers!!!

From Tom Pritchard . . .
G
erhard Maree, George Heck, Terry Martzall, and a cast of thousands were at Willow last Thursday. The viz by the platforms at the cement dock was 1-2 ft, which came as quite a shock to us. There were several possible causes for the radical drop in Willow viz. We were able to rule out pachyderms; wrong color. Algae - the right color, but it wasn't August yet, so it was too soon for the annual algae bloom. That left just one possibility: Jess must have washed her dive gear in the quarry before she headed off to the warm and clear waters of cave country. No matter; we are not just scuba whores - we are scum diving scuba whores. GMan and I dropped off the platform, found the tracks, and headed off to the Quest. We went only about 15 ft before we literally came face-to-face with Terry and George who were on their way back from their misadventures. After exchanging a round of high-fives, GMan and I continued groping our way west. Viz improved gradually and almost opened up to 12 ft west of the Quest. We circled the hull of the Quest, ascended to the deck, cleaned Dan's plaque, and headed off to the fire truck. Rather than crawl through the weeds, we dropped into the bowl and after passing the Minnow, returned to the Quest via the cement dock platform and Bubba. We returned via the cement truck, hoping the viz might be better there. No luck. With my left hand extended so that I wouldn't run into the cement truck, I proceeded cautiously until I found the fallen spout. Such foresight! I was so proud! I dropped my hand and ran right into the ^&%$&#!ing spout that is still attached to the truck. Doh!! I had foresight when all I needed was eyesight. Fortunately, I hit my head so nothing important got damaged. 73 minutes; 57 degrees; green.

From Darth Vern . .
After our First Beginners East Coast Wreck Dive on the Gypsy Blood was blown out I decided to join a few other divers at BSC. I arrived to see Nate Brommer, Chris Thompson, Dave Barnhart and Chris Sanders. We geasred up at lower A under the pavillions and dropped into the lagoon on our first dive, it was me Chris and Dave. Chris dove with Nate. We dropped over the road and down past the railroad tracks to the rim of the hole. Across to the steps and up to the deep boat. I am sure Dave and Chris thought I was lost, but I wasn't for once. Up to the dozer and across to the road, with a short safety stop at 15. Over the road and back thru the lagoon. Took a short detour thru the tube where I lost them. I doubled back over the top and back in behind them. They kept on the plan and we finished as planned, a great job by the two. The 2nd dive found us all diving together with the same initial plan. We decided to follow the plan to the bulldozer and then shoot liftbags and do out stop on our own uplines. We shot the bags no problem, but drifted away from each other onc we started to ascend, I stayed with Chris T and Nate stayed with Dave and Chris S. We drifted to the road. descended and headed back thru the lagoon. A great day of diving and some good ocean skills were practiced. And a good time was had by all.

Keep on diving and LIVE THE ADVENTURE!!!
