Current Conditions- Even after the rain vis is excellent. There is some haze down to 15 ft then it opens to 30 plus. Water Temp is 67 at surface and low 40's 60 ft and below.
Wednesday eve dives- We are going back to potluck. as of June 3 2003. Grill is available. Bring enough to share. Admission $8.00 for non members.
Thanks to Jim Miller, Mike Hoffman, John Walker, Mike, David, John, ellen, sue, crystal and all the rest that raised and then lowered the habitat. Hopefully it will be in position at the time of this reading. The deep platform is deeper but not quite down at the 150' mark even with the 500 lbs tied on this weekend.
Fish Facts- I was overjoyed (sorry to those I woke up) with seeing a large school of bluegills, shiners and minnows around the dock. Some have taken residence in the Christmas trees nearby and each eve hang around the shore. We are hoping that this year the feeder fish can outrun the bass or there will be a spearfishin tournament in the summer,
Barley stuffers needed- Time to make the snakes. Soon as the rain stops the barley will be delivered. We can use the help stuffin on Wed and weekends.
Off hours divin- 4 or more we can accommodate. Cindy at Smokeys has been getting groups together during the week on Thursday evenings. If your are interested in diving on Thursdays, Get in touch with Cindy at Smokey's 717-393-5333 or give us a call at (717) 615-2898 for reservations
Gary sanderson has offered to run a refresher on practical skills for all levels of divers. If you are interested and who isn't interested in honing the skills up a notch or two? Contact Gary so we can get a group together.
Jim and Paul scooter boy 1 & 2 Think they might have found the fabled deep hole. They report great vis at the bottom without lights and are looking forward to making the discovery on their next dive. The question is What will we name it? Jiauls hole? While we are on the subject of naming things, we are lookingfor a name for the last boat. Hre are a few that have been submitted: JIMBOAT, MILLERS LIGHT TOUCH, 2nd to the Last, Almost Complete and Slip Slidden. Let us know what you think?
We are Holding another fairwell get together for Jim Miller and George Reulens. All are invited to come say goodbye to two of Lancasters finest Divers. They will be around on Wed And this weekend
As a courtesy to all divers we are now implimenting the "Enter from the dock only" rule. With Summer fast approaching we expect more traffic. Entering and Exiting from the beach can really blow the Vis. We are asking everyone to please use the Dock from now on. Besides, you all need to practice your Giant steps.
